Sir McLeker is back to groom talent

Read: 11603

The name Sir McLeker is so popular, and mentioning his name brings to mind hits like Rithelela and Nthengeleni. This man merely produced the two songs, which were done by PhalaPhala FM's soapie actor Tshibulebule, aka Phathutshedzo Muthambi.

This time around, Sir McLeker, a house hit maker in his own right, has just come forth with a masterpiece that has become popular with the people in the street. On every corner, taxis and stands in town and villages, the sound of his hit Tapanyedza continues to keep popular house music real.

“The song has earned a whopping 1 900 downloads on "kasi mp3" in three-and-half weeks after its date of release,” said Sir McLeker.

The song, which speaks about someone who steals the show by dancing naturally, was inspired by the true story that happened in one of the top club he worked in as a DJ in Johannesburg. “Tapanyedza is any dance move that comes naturally to anyone without being taught by anyone,” he explains. “With Tapanyedza, you do whatever you can naturally.”

Sir McKleker came back to Limpopo and found a home in Makhado. His sole purpose for returning to his home province was to scout and groom local talent. “All they need is to find a home with a professional recording studio where their talent and efforts will not be compromised,” he says.

“That's the reason why I started Interactive Solid Waves Entertainment studios (iswe). I want to give these artists that high-quality production that will help them compete nationally.”

This man means what he says. Last year he produced Tshibulebule's blockbuster Rithelela, which launched the actor's singing career.

Sir McLeker was born Aluwani Nemaranzhe in the small village of Phiphidi near Thohoyandou. His full-length album, Sophisticated House, came out last year. He can be phoned on 079 066 0929 or 084 75 92 984.
