Locals celebrate Heritage Day

Residents all over celebrated their culture this Heritage Day by dressing in traditional attire and performing traditional songs and dances. Here is a collection of colourful photographs of the day.

Ms Andani Mamburu and Neo Makhovha of Tshiozwi were snapped on Heritage Day. They said that, for them, their heritage formed part of their every day life.

Superspar Makhado's employees wore traditional Vhavenda attire on Heritage Day last Wednesday, They are, from left to right (standing): Mesdames Lindiwe Thusi, Lilian Radzuma,Maria Nebulu, Pricillah Kwinda, Rollet Mudzwiri, Grace Ndadza, Maureen Balibali, Lizzy Thomu and Sylvia Vele. Employees of Superspar Makhado proudly wore their traditional Tsonga attire on Heritage Day. Traditional songs and dance performances were the order of the day during Heritage Day celebrations at Ravele last Wednesday. The members of the different cultures were also encouraged to visit heritage sites and to look after the environment.
