Mapungubwe Arts festival will be rocking

The Department of Sport Arts and Culture will host the annual Mapungubwe Arts Festival from 4 to 12 December in Polokwane. It will be held at the Polokwane Cricket Club.

With an expected turnout of 20 000 to 22 000 people, it is expected that the festival will bring the best out of the artists. Present stars and legends on the music scene will perform during the event. The artists include Stimela and Ray Phiri, Ringo Madlingozi, Oliver Mtukudzi, Sipho Hot Sticks Mabuse, PJ Powers, Yvonne Chacka Chaka and the Mahotela Queens. The artists will be accompanied by, among others, DJ Jones, DJ Raps Vhafuwi and DJ Brian.

Ms Jemina Kaka of the communication, makerting and publication division of the Department of Sport Arts and Culture said they had improved on last year and that it would be all systems go this year. "Each year comes with its challenges, but we have improved twofold in terms of parking, security and all other measures that will make revellers feel at home," she said.

The admishion fee will be R150 on the 12th, and the gate will be open at 11:00 and 22:00.

Malondolo will be on the stage during the festival.

DJ Raps Vhafuwi will battle with other DJs on the 11th.

The legend Bra Hugh Masekela.

DJ Jones will perfom ont the 11th during the battle of the DJs.

Worship House will perform their gospel hits at the festival.

 
 

Ray Phiri and Stimela are expected to pull a huge crowd on the 12th.
