Royal Heritage Festival 2016 is coming

The Phalaphala FM Royal Heritage Festival 2016 promises joyous and fun-filled music entertainment by the finest of artists in selected music genres. The event will be held on 10 September at the Royal Gardens at Nandoni Dam.

Thandiswa Mazwai, Zozo and Sengere Superbeat, Lufuno Dagada and Prifix are among around 30 artists who will set the stage ablaze with their hit songs.

Thandiswa, whose voice mesmerised thousands of fans across the globe as a lead vocalist in the Bombo Maffin group, has an impressive journey as a hardwoking singer in the music industry. She started her journey in Bongo Maffin in the early 1990s and toured the world. However, she made history with the release of her mega album, Zabalaza, in 2004. The album instantly reached double platinum.

Zozo, real names Joseph Mbidza, is unarguably considered the “King of Rumba music” as he is among the few musicians who popularised Chingondo music sung in Tshivenda. So far, he has recorded 13 albums to critical acclaim.

The popular gospel artist, Lufuno Dagada, released a memorable album on both CD and DVD, My New Beginnings. He is a great performer and multi-award-winning singer who is respected throughout South Africa.

A young VenRap artist, Prifix, was crowned best VenRap artist in the F.A.M.E SA Awards on Sunday. His music is superb. He has got an amazing vocal skill as a rapper.

The Phalaphala FM Royal Heritage Festival will provide the province with an opportunity to unify its citizens and its neighbouring countries to celebrate the rich cultural heritage and to promote tourism in the province, elevating the level of growing excitement amongst young adults, emerging business individuals, students and tourist enthusiasts.

Patrons and invited guests will enjoy great music supplied by a host of indigenous South African talent, including artists from Venda, to promote local talent.

The line-up includes, but is not limited to, Macheso, Nathi, Sfiso Ncwane, Kwesta, Nasty C, Riky Rick, DJ Dimplez, VJ Nutty, DJ Ganyani, Prince Kaybee, Heavy K, DJ Zinhle, DJ Malwela, Colbert Mukwevho, Benny Mayengani, Shwi No Mtekhala, Rofhiwa, David Mmbi, Kenny Bevhula, Lagugga, Kanakana “Cook”, Zozo, Jones, and Lufuno Buda.
