A young local model, Ntsako Colight Shivambe (22), hailing from Mninginisi Block 3 outside Malamulele, was selected as one of the top 20 finalists in the Miss South Africa Heritage 2024 pageant. The names of the finalists were announced on Sunday, 10 March. The final event of the competition is scheduled to take place on 28 September this year at a venue in Gauteng.
Reflecting on her journey, Shivambe said that she was grateful for the opportunities that modelling had brought her over the past year. She was able to meet many new people and forge lasting friendships. However, she also had to encounter numerous obstacles, such as stiff competition from other beautiful girls, scams, body-image pressures, and issues related to diversity.
Despite encountering such obstacles, Shivambe's dedication to personal growth and empowerment remains unwavering. With a background in early-childhood development (ECD), and ancillary health care studies at Motheo 21 Battalion Community Centre, she seeks to gain valuable industry experience and contribute to the organisation she represents.
For Shivambe, modelling is more than just a career but also a passion that fuels her confidence and brings her joy. Her aspiration to become Miss Universe or Miss South Africa underscores her resilience, determination, and commitment to her dreams.
