Tshiozwi Anchors hammer Chelsea 4-2

Tshiozwi Anchors played their hearts out and hammered Tshikota Chelsea 4-2 in a Safa Vhembe MMK Administrators Soccer League match played at Tshikota on Saturday.

Anchors displayed entertaining football. Chelsea was only good at the far back and their midfielders hesitated for too long and did not release the ball on time for the goal poachers. This sloppy performance put the defence under tremendous pressure.

The boys from Tshiozwi initiated some promising moves from the centre of the pitch but were denied a number of scoring opportunities by the rock-solid defence of their opponents.

Anchors broke the deadlock in the 14th minute. Aluwani “Killer” Nedzamba forced his way through the defence of Chelsea and scored an easy goal from close range. Sello “Ferrari” Motsipi was on target in the 20th minute to make it 2-0. Although one of their key midfielders, Phethani Sikhwivhilu, was reprimanded with a card in the 24th minute, Anchors did not lose their fighting spirit.

They continued to pressure their opponents by creating promising moves from the centre of the pitch. Khotso Maphala tried his luck from outside the penalty box with a volley. The Chelsea keeper could only watch the ball hit the net to bring the half-time score to 3-0.

Both sides effected two changes to their starting lineups in the last half. Chelsea introduced Patric Mulaudzi and Sherrif Ramabulana, while Anchors responded by calling on Vhutshilo Mafunisa and Fhrdzisani Tsakopa respectively. It was clever move from Chelsea. Sherif Ramabulana scored by beating the keeper with a ground cutter, following a neat pass by Maradona Murwanthi.

Chelsea continued to initiate some promising moves from behind, and they reduced the margin via Matha Ratshilaya in the 78th minute.

Ferrari Motsipi of Anchors completed his brace to score his team’s fourth goal.
