Registration for Lumveleni Soccer Tournament opens

 

Teams interested in participating in this year’s edition of the Lumveleni Festive Soccer Tournament have until the end of this month to register. According to one of the organisers of the tournament, Mr Teddy Ritshuri, the registration window opened on Wednesday, 1 November, and will close at the end of the month or when the required number of teams has been reached. The first 32 teams to register will be eligible to participate in the tournament.

Mr Ritshuri said that registration would be done on a first-come-first-served basis. He stressed the fact that only teams that have paid the full registration fee of R1,200 will be deemed to have registered for the tournament.

The opening matches are scheduled to be played on Friday, 15 December, while the semi-final and final will be played on Sunday, 31 December. All matches will be played at the Ngudza United Brothers Grounds. The champions of the tournament will take home a whopping R55,000, a floating trophy, gold medals, a soccer kit and two soccer balls.

The runners-up will receive R20,000, silver medals, a soccer kit and two soccer balls. The third-placed team will be presented with R12,000, a soccer kit, bronze medals and a soccer ball, while the team ending in position four will take home R7,500, a soccer kit and a soccer ball.
