United Brothers win Thulamela Ward 26 Soccer Cup

Dzwerani United Brothers FC have reason to celebrate. They were crowned the champions of the Thulamela Ward 26 Soccer Tournament at the Mahematshena Grounds in the Vuwani area last Sunday.

United Brothers beat Madala Silver Stars 1-0 in the final to lift the trophy. Their way to the final went via Powerline FC, whom they beat 2-0 in their semi-final-round match. United Brothers were presented with R3,500, a floating trophy, gold medals, soccer kit and a soccer ball during a ceremony at the grounds after the final game.

The runners-up, Madala Silver Stars, were given R1,500, silver medals, a small trophy, and a soccer ball. Silver Stars beat Dzwerani Young Brothers 3-2 in their semi-final-round match at the same venue earlier that day.
