Berea and Basel in Vhanasi clash

The opening matches of the Vhanasi Soccer Tournament will be played at the Sambandou United Professionals Grounds next Wednesday, December 27. This follows the toss, which was conducted during the official launching ceremony held at the Divine Oasis Christian Church building in Sambandou last Friday, 15 December.

FC Basel has a tough challenge ahead as they were drawn against the formidable Berea FC in their opening-round fixture. Berea is currently leading in their respective stream and has won several tournaments over the past months. However, Basel, having recently been crowned champions of the NR Makhadi Soccer Tournament and the Vhuthu Mobile Fridge Soccer Tournament at the Gondeni Stadium, are confident in their ability to lift the Vhanasi trophy. The winner of this match is likely to be a strong contender for the tournament title.

SMSA will face Anel Real Vikings in a highly anticipated clash. Defending champions Madridtas FC will meet Gondeni Big Cat, while Makhitha Oscar Stars will play against Dipeni FC, considered a dark horse in the competition. The hosts, Sambandou United Professionals, will take on Mukula Young Santos, who are looking to make a mark after a challenging season.

Other matchups include Thengwe Flying Peace vs. Tshivhazwaulu Peace Makers, Tswera Hot Chillies vs. Mashamba Soccer Academy, and Eagles United Stars vs. Musasenda Big Five, who surprised many by winning the Nwali Soccer Tournament a few months ago.
