Sixteen teams vie for the prizes in Top T Cup

 

Sixteen teams have confirmed their participation in the Top T soccer tournament scheduled to take place from 23 to 26 December at the Mamvuka Jazz Grounds. According to the organiser and sponsor of the tournament, Mr Sam Maduwa of Top T, the participating teams are:

Mune Pumps FC, Mamvuka Young Movers, Matsa Freedom Fighters, Matshavhawe Come to See, DYA FC from Gauteng, Muraleni United Brothers, Rabali Pull Together, Mauluma Eagles United, Luvhalani Sunshine Pirates, Tshirolwe Zebra Force, Matsa All Stars, Mamvuka Mighty Bulls, Vhembe Rise and Shine Development, Simon Young Stars, Tshikuwi Soccer Development, and Mamvuka Masters.

Maduwa mentioned that the winning team would receive R10,000, a soccer kit, a floating trophy, and gold medals. The runners-up will go home with R7,000, a soccer kit, and silver medals. The third prize will be R3,000, a soccer kit, and bronze medals. The fourth-placed team will win a soccer kit.

“The importance of sport in the life of young people goes much further than the basic answer that it keeps kids off the streets. It does, in fact, keep young people off the streets, but it also instils lessons that are essential in the life of a human being,” he said. Maduwa added that by staging this tournament, he also wanted to send the message to fight against gender-based violence.
