The traditional leader of Tshidimbini village, Vhamusanda Vho Mulingoni Eric Tshivhase (53), better known as “Rambo” because of his prowess in various sporting codes, passed away last Saturday, 13 April.

New lab welcomed by Bungeni learners

A new state-of-the-art science laboratory was unveiled at Russel Bungeni High School in Bungeni village on Friday, 5 April. The laboratory is the result of a partnership between the Department of Science and Innovation (DSI), Stellenbosch University, the South African National Energy Development Institute (SANEDI), and the traditional authority, led by Hosi Given Bungeni.

Rialivhuwa and Sally are king and queen

Rialivhuwa Mulaudzi (17), a Grade 11 learner from Lwamondo High School, and Sally Marikhele, a Grade 10 student from Nngweni High School (15), were crowned king and queen of the Mr and Miss Vhembe District High Schools Pageant. The annual beauty pageant took place at the Tshavhalovhedzi Zion Apostolic Church on 6 April.

A resident of Komati village near Vleifontein is very upset after his house was demolished, following a dispute about ownership. The structure was allegedly erected without the necessary permission obtained from the traditional leader.

Department shuts down Ziggy School

Parents had to scramble to find a new educational home for their children, with many feeling that the department had failed to protect the children by not acting against the owners of the school sooner.
