A 21-year-old youth from Khubvi village, Vhulenda Neluonde, is a multi-talented artist whose talent speaks for itself.
He is an actor, voice imitator, master of ceremonies and comedian. He has acted in several stage and radio dramas which, among others, include A Zwi Vha Faneli and Bodzandala on Phalaphala FM.
“In Bodzandala I played the character of Mariko, who originally came from Zimbabwe,” he said. “I am so passionate about acting. I was mentored by Humbulani Mamburu and Annah Netshishivhe. They taught me a lot in the craft and I would like to thank them profusely.”
He attended Gilbert Nndanganeni Primary School. He is currently in Grade 12. “I would like to do media studies once I am done with my matric,” he said. “I love acting so much that I want to complement my inborn talent with knowledge. One has to go to school in order to make it in life, which can be cruel to you if you neglect studying and getting knowledge.”
He has become a drama mentor to pupils from schools such as Dengenya Secondary, Muhuyu wa Thomba Secondary, Khubvi Primary and Gilbert Nndanganeni Primary.
He believes in actualising himself through art. “The artist is able to reach hundreds of admirers through one piece of art,” he said.
He uses his voice to imitate high-profile personalities such as Tshibulebule, the late Phalaphala FM's newsreader Calvin Munyengani, Julius Malema, Nelson Mandela and Ndevhetsini anchors. It is always a marvel to hear Mr Voice imitate all those personalities because he does it with much energy and determination to entertain his listeners.
