People are invited to attend the Venda comedy festival on 9 December at Makwarela Community Hall.
Ms Patience Dagada, event coordinator, promised that fans will enjoy the event. "You can expect to have a lot of fun and laughs,” she said. “The festival is the first of its kind in Venda and is planned to be held annually with different comedians aiming to release that stress. So bring your family and friends for an unforgettable night of laughter. The program is non-stop laughs, and I'm excited to be part of this great initiative.”
Stand-up comedian Mr Majo will be featuring comedians from Nigeria (Angel Gabriel), Mpumalanga, Kwazulu Natal, Johannesburg, Naboomspruit and Hammanskraal. “We will also introduce new talent,” she said. She further added that the purpose of the festival was to bring comedy to Venda and also to unearth stand-up comedians in Venda.
Another event coordinator, Ms Lorna Nefale, said: "What to expect is beyond what Venda has ever seen, time to de-stress from the overwhelming year that we just had. I feel blessed to be part of greatness that will give a platform to young stand-up comedians in Venda and also to natural Venda talent."
Tickets are already available. Those interested can phone 076 798 2947/073 165 4334/081780 8069. Tickets will also be available at the gate. The festival will start at 16:00.
