Livhuwani Christopher Lambani, the 23-year-old RnB and Afro pop singer from Mpheni village in Elim, is set to release an extended-play (EP) recording later this year.

Popularly known as Chris Bang, Christopher is famous for his hit single Ndi nga mulwela featuring J-cortez.

Chris Bang started singing in 2013 and to date he has released one album, Lwendo, which means “journey” and has five single tracks. The latest one is entitled Boy, and was released on New Year’s Day.

He grew up listening to Usher Raymond, Chris Brown and Ring and said that the content of their songs “and the inner me had a very solid connection."

He said he always had music in him since he was just a young boy. "I used to sing alone from home to school and from school to home almost every day.  When I joined the school choir at high school, people started to realise my talent for singing," he said.

He said he planned to work with various artists this year. "I am willing to learn from other artists and produce more good music for the rest of my life,” he said.

Besides being a musician, Chris works as a griller at Nando’s in Louis Trichardt.

According to him, the support from his family is important and for him it was not easy to get them to support his dream.
