New single for princess of Afro-jazz

Read: 8010

The new single from the Afro-jazz singer, Mariana Motlare, oozes life of its own with style and melodies that have never been heard in the local music industry.

Her four songs, Nthaheleni, Hu na mavhanda, Thetshelesa ndayo and Nthaheleni (instrumental version) are filled with unique and authentic rhythms that create an instant appeal to audiences of different tastes in that they will be experiencing something new.

Nthaheleni is a song that urges listeners to accept the end of a relationship because one cannot force the other into continuing to love them,” she said. “Nthaheleni means 'kick him or her on to me'. In simple language, if the relationship is over, both parties must allow each other to have a new relationship instead of bombarding them with jealousy and bitter backstabbing.”

Hu na mavhanda encourages people to get home on time because there are beasts out there as the song says. “Many relationships get broken because one partner goes out and returns in the wee hours, only to find that the partner is not happy,” she stated. “Again, many harmful things happen in the dark of the night out in the streets, so it is always advisable to get home on time to avoid being hurt or injured by the beasts.”

Thetshelesani ndayo rebukes wayward children and advises them to listen to their parents and the guardians who parent them. “Most of us grew up in places where someone else's parent was your parent as well, so I would like to see all children accepting positive advice from any grown-up because it is the right thing to do,” she said.

Nthaheleni was recorded at Winman Studios and the project was mixed and mastered by Emmanuel Mamphogoro.
