Thousands of music lovers across Limpopo will enjoy the music of their beloved singers and musicians during the inaugural Benny Mayengani Fill-up Giyani Stadium Festival that will be held at the Giyani Stadium tomorrow (1 September).
This aspirational festival, while it celebrates the talent of multi-award-winning singer Benny Mayengani, aims to foster a sense of unity among Vhavenda, Vatsonga and Basotho, while promoting the best of Limpopo music – and that is evident with an all-inclusive line-up.
“We are living during times that demand unity if we want to rear children who will then get to be independent social beings in a wider society, and music is one master tool through which we aim to bring all people of Limpopo together,” said the event's sponsor and representative, Mr Howard Mashaba.
Benny Mayengani kickstarted his music career over a decade ago, and he has since thoroughly established himself in the industry, to an extent that he has become popular among both young and old fans. His music carries relevant messages that resonate with peace, love, enjoyment and the celebration of life and African culture.
Just a few years after his earlier releases such as Tiba Ben, Vitanani Firebrigade and Ntombi ya ku xonga, Benny's name resonated with contagious popularity. He went on to win many awards and was named Benny Mayengani the president, after his studio album.
The line-up of supporting artists includes, but is not limited to, Destruction Boyz, Zodwa Wabantu, DJ Tira, Sho Madlozi, Gabriel, King Monada, Liloga, Joe Shirimani, Mr Bow, DJ Ganyani, Makhadzi, Janisto & CK, Candy, Revolution, Mhan Flo, Bundu, Percy Mfana, KK, DJ Brian, Limpopo Roots, DJ Gami, Lekkersweet, DJ Matt, Mzwale, Florah Chauke, Nony D, Kenny Bevhula, Magubane Da Franchiz, Nurse Matlala, Vuyelwa, Khombo Shirimani, DJ Cappuccino, Russiam Army, Sunglen, Kay-Cee, DJ Lolo, General Muzka, Lady Shiks, Collen Sambo, Kholofelo Lekganyane, Themba Nyathi, MacTrevor Timbeva, Sikiza Boys, Moscow, Daniel Brothers, and Lethabo le Joy.
