Several local artists have been nominated for this year's SABC Crown Gospel Music Awards, which will be held in Durban on 25 November.

Phuluso Thenga, who is nominated in the Best gospel worship song and Best newcomer category, said he felt excited and overwhelmed by the nomination, Most importantly, he was grateful to God for the nomination. "I'm grateful for the support, encouragement and the prayers my supporters give. Their support goes a long way," he added.

A local comedian nominated in the Best gospel comedy category, Mr Majo Almost Famous, said: "I feel so honoured to be nominated for these esteemed gospel music awards. This nomination speaks volume for me. Being nominated is so validating and a dream come true. I have watched and followed these awards for the past 10 years and to think I am actually part of them this year is something I cannot even explain."

God is just rebuilding me to what He wants me to be, and I am just going with the flow. How lovely it feels to be carried by God. I have started putting my praise on this award already," she added.
