Mulweli to launch her book

Read: 5866

Local author Mulweli Theodora Tshirame will launch her debut book, Behind the Mask, on 15 December during a ceremony at the Tshilamba Town Hall.

Tshirame, who hails from Tshilamba in Mutale, said she started writting the book in September after she saw how depression was affecting the youth. "I was in town and I evesdropped on a lady wanting to buy a dress  She complained about price, yet she still bought it just to compete with her friends. "When competition begins, pressure strikes," she said.

The 22-year-old said she aimed to touch the hearts of people who woke up every morning pretending to be happy, but deep down they had bottled up many things while dying silently. "Depression is real. Don't sacrifice your happiness just to impress someone who doesn't even care of your smile, live your life," she said.

The entrance fee for children is R30, general R50 and VIP (including book copy) is R200.

She said the launch would start at 12:00. For more information, phone her on 079 797 8560.
