Update on Hlanganani shooting: Fourth victim discovered, alive

The police in Hlanganani, while investigating the murder of three men, discovered a fourth victim, who is still alive.

The 25-year-old man was found close to the scene where the three bodies of the deceased were discovered along a gravel road near the N’wamatatani section of the village. He had been shot in his arm and had a bullet lodged in his mouth that prevented him from speaking to the police.

Only after receiving medical treatment could the man communicate in writing to the police that he had been in the company of the three deceased. He also told the police that he was from Roodepoort in Gauteng. “As soon as his health improves, he will be instrumental in assisting with the investigation,” said Limpopo police spokesperson Lt-Col Moatshe Ngoepe.

Ngoepe confirmed that the man is kept under close police guard. His identity is also being withheld to protect him further.

The bodies of the three deceased were discovered on Tuesday, 22 May. All three had gunshot wounds.
