Buka arranges motivation talk at Raluvhimba

One of the most talented radio drama actors in the country, Dzuvha Mphaphuli, known in the media industry as “Buka,” held a successful motivational talk for learners at Raluvhimba Secondary School last Friday morning.

Mphaphuli, who is also a well-known radio DJ, invited several professional specialists in different academic fields to motivate and encourage learners. Among the invited speakers were two paramedics, Fhulufhelo and Tshisamphiri Netshitungulu, Mr Justice Lebopa from the Communication and Branding Department at the University of Venda, and Mr Elvis Netshandama, the campus manager at the Madzivhandila College of Agriculture.

Mr Netshandama advised learners to always question the purpose of their being at school. “If there is no one with a degree in your family, tell yourself that you are going to be the first to obtain a degree and become a shining light in both your family and your local community,” he said.

Mr Justice Lebopa from the University of Venda encouraged learners to apply for bursaries that would help them throughout their educational journey. “As you are preparing for your final examinations, I believe you have already applied for different bursaries and also at different universities for a space to learn,” he added.

Mr Tshisamphiri Netshitungulu, a basic-life-support paramedic, said hard work had never killed anyone and encouraged students to choose their friends wisely. “Never choose friends who are not on the same mission with you when it comes to education. Choose friends who have manners, have the will to succeed, and who always talk about the future,” he said.

Embracing the Future with Artisanal Skills

As South Africa continues its pursuit of economic growth and industrial sustainability, attention is being drawn to a crucial yet often overlooked segment of the workforce: artisans. Acknowledging this need, the Manufacturing, Engineering and Related Services Sector Education and Training Authority (merSETA) has become a major role player in the Decade of the Artisan (DoA) initiative of the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET).
