Chillyboy FC emerged as the champions of the Takie Soccer tournament's 10th edition when they beat JHB Pull Together 3-0 in the final at the Rabali Stadium on Saturday.

Pull Together played entertaining football throughout the game, but their strikers fumbled at the goal finish. Dakalo Ratshitanga of Chillyboy opened the score in the 23rd minute. Pull Together came close to scoring again in the 34th minute. Former Black Leopards and Orlando Pirates striker Rudzani Ramudzuli held onto the ball for too long within the Chillyboy danger area, until he lost possession.

Chillyboy gained momentum with time. Their second goal came in the 44th minute. Sheriff Mudalahothe made no mistake after receiving a pre-cooked pass from Mashudu Mafunisa. The score was 2-0 when the referee blew the half-time whistle.

Pull Together introduced Sathiel Phasha and Shonisani Mashau for Lutendo Mmboi and Ndamu Ramabulana. Chillyboy responded by replacing Khathutshelo Nevhutalu with Mpho Mavhunga in the 70th minute. Sherrif Mudalahothe completed his brace and scored his team third goal late in the match.

Chillyboy FC received R15 000, gold medals and a soccer kit for being champions and R2 000 that was donated to the charity organisation of their choice. JHB Pull Together collected R8 000, silver medals, a new soccer kit and R1000 donated to a charity organisation.

Matshavhawe Come To See ended in third position and received R5 000 and a soccer kit. The tournament was sponsored by the Rabali group of companies.
