Lloyd steers Arsenal to victory

Lloyd Davhana steered his team, Madombidzha Arsenal, to victory when he scored both goals to beat Makhitha up the Brooms 2-0 in the MMK Administrators League match at Madombidzha on Sunday.

Arsenal approached the match like a house on fire, with their midfielders distributing telling passes to the strikers. They threatened to score five minutes into the match when Mavhungu Khodobo forced his way through the defence and passed the ball to Mbengeni Rambuwani, whose attempt missed the target by inches.

In the 17th minute, Davhana unleashed a powerful shot from outside the box and the keeper of Brooms, Engedzani Musehane, watched in disbelief when the ball hit the back of the net. After the goal, Brooms lost shape in the midfield. The halftime score was 1-0 in favour Arsenal.

The second half saw Arsenal pressing hard in search of more goals. Realising that their chances were slim, Brooms abandoned their positions and packed themselves at the far back. Davhana  scored  Arsenal's second goal in the 78th minute after beating the off-side trap.

Terence Tshinda of Brooms should have reduced the score line, but he shot wide after receiving a pre-cooked pass from Musa Makhubele.
