Another defeat for Magezi FC

 

Things are quickly going from bad to worse in the camp of Magezi FC. They gave away more league points last Saturday (18 February), following their 2-3 defeat at the hands of Mthatha Bucks at the Mthatha Stadium.

Bucks opened their account in the 14th minute via Kangwa Chileshe.  Khomotso Masia scored the equalizer six minutes afterwards. Mazwi Mncube was on target in the 24th minute, but Magezi fought back in the 29th minute via Moses Karabo. Mthatha Bucks scored the winner through Petrus Ngebo five minutes before the final whistle.

Jomo Cosmos kept their title hopes alive by beating Mbombela United 2-0 at the Tsakane Stadium in Johannesburg. Cyril Lingwati and Nkanyiso Madonsela scored for Cosmos in the 28th and 89th minute respectively.

In their Kwazulu Natal derby at the Princess Magogo Stadium in Durban, Amazulu shared the spoils with Real Kings. Real Kings were the first to find the net. Siphesihle Nzimande was on target with a ground cutter in the 40th minute. Amazulu were awarded a penalty seven minutes into the last half. Siyabonga Nomvete made no mistake from the white spot. Real Kings reclaimed the lead in the 60th minute via Thobani Kunene, but Amazulu fought back through Siyabonga Nomvete on the stroke of full time.

Bongile Booi and Yussuf Japie scored for Milano United when they unexpectedly beat Royal Eagles 2-0 at the Athlone Stadium in Cape Town.

The pace setters, Thanda Royal Zulu, lost their first league match this season when they suffered a 0-2 defeat at the hands of the University of Pretoria. Broderick Burds and Ryan Chapman scored for the students in the 25th and 44th minute respectively.

Ivan Mahangwahaya scored the only goal when Black Leopards beat Witbank Spurs 1-0 at the Thohoyandou Stadium. Cape Town All Stars and Stellenbosch FC played to a goalless draw at the Athlone Stadium, while FC Cape Town and Santos also shared the spoils, following a goalless draw at the NNK Rugby Stadium in Cape Town.
