Leopards’ sweeper, Jean Munganga.

Can Jomo stop Leopards?

It remains to be seen whether Jomo Cosmos will have the power to stop Black Leopards when they meet in their NFD match at the Tsakane Stadium in Johannesburg on Sunday afternoon.

The game is expected to keep the supporters at the edge of their chairs, when one considers that both Cosmos and Leopards are fighting for places in the promotional play-offs. Leopards are currently in the second spot on the log with an outside chance of gaining automatic promotion. Leopards, however, narrowed their chances of gaining automatic promotion by losing against Real Kings last weekend.

Leopards’ overlapping right back, Marks Munyai, will be available for selection on Sunday. Munyai was out of action in their match against Real Kings due to suspension after accumulating four yellow cards in the previous matches. Should he be in the starting line-up, Munyai will play alongside Jean Munganga and Lebohang Mabotja at the far back.

In the other matches that will be played on Sunday, the University of Pretoria will host Stellenbosch FC at the Tuks Stadium in Pretoria. Real Kings will play against Santos at the Athlone Stadium. Santos are currently perched at the bottom of the log. Amazulu will host Cape Town All Stars at the Princess Magogo Stadium in Durban.

Tomorrow’s fixtures are (home team named first): Milano United vs Mbombela United; Royal Eagles vs Thanda Royal Zulu; Magezi FC vs FC Cape Town and Mthatha Bucks vs Witbank Spurs.
