3-0 victory for Makovha All Stars

Makovha All Stars pushed Do Light FC deep into the relegation zone when they beat them 3-0 in their MMK Administrators League match at the Phangami grounds on Saturday.

The game started 40 minutes later than the scheduled 15:00 kick-off time as the officials from both sides were arguing over the registration of some of the players.

Although Do Light lost cohesion in the middle of the park at some point, their dribbling wizard, Emmanuel Murwamadala, remained a thorn in the flesh of the defenders of Stars. Murwamadala came close to scoring in the 14th minute when he tried his luck from the edge of the box. The ball missed the goal mouth by inches.

The Stars from Makovha village took the lead in the 24th minute. Murendeni Mulaudzi beat the offside trap and showed the keeper the wrong way. The home side did not give in without a fight. They continued to fight collectively, with their midfielders dishing out some telling passes to the goal poachers time after time.

The visitors enjoyed their 1-0 lead until the referee, Mr Olani Kwinda, blew the half-time whistle. The only player who was reprimanded with a yellow card was Mashudu Muthabeni of All Stars. He tackled Emmanuel Murwamadala from behind and the referee was quick to flash yellow.

All Stars introduced Master Shivambu, Richard Chauke and Rendani Masindi for Murendeni Mulaudzi, Vhukuma Sadiki and Takalani Mawela. Do Light responded by replacing Khuthadzo Munyai and Thivhulawi Mavhungu with Ambani Badzhi and Farisanani Tshovhote. The move was not good enough to stop All Stars from scoring two more goals. A substitute, Master Shivambu, was on target in the 69th minute. He beat the keeper with a volley. Shivambu completed his brace when he finished off a square pass from Mashudu Muthabeni in the dying minutes.
