Young Eagles win Mayoungma tournament

 

Maebane Young Eagles won the Mayoungma soccer tournament after beating Makhitha Yellow Birds 3-0 in the final at the Magau grounds on Sunday.

Eagles took the game to their opponents from the onset, giving the Birds’ defenders no time to breathe. The game was six minutes old when the hosts took the lead. Nndwamato Netshaulu dished a pre-cooked pass to Doctor Ratshibaya, who beat the keeper of Birds, Ndivhuwo Khangala.

The keeper of Eagles, Collet Maduwa, made his presence felt seven minutes before half time. He braved Khathutshelo Ramuedzisi’s shot and palmed the ball away for a corner kick.

Aron Mashula increased the margin in the 56th minute. Humbulani Managa beat the offside trap from the left corner and unleashed a rocket from the edge of the box. The ball hit the crossbar and landed across the goal line. Doctor Ratshibaya hooked in a loose ball to make it 3-0 in the 70th minute.
