Breakers too strong for Celtic

Tshikwani Stone Breakers emerged the champions of the Limpopo Dairy League when they beat Madombidzha Celtic 2-0 in the last match of the league at Tshikhwani on Sunday.

With their victory, Breakers were promoted to Stream E of the Safa Vhembe, MMK Administrators League.

The game was 27 minutes old when the hosts took the lead. Tondani Mulamu dished a pre-cooked pass to Surprise Maphaha, who moved a few steps forward before unleashing a half volley. The half-time score was 1-0 in favour of Breakers.

Celtic's abused countless scoring opportunities in the opening minutes of second half. Silas Rambona unleashed prematurely, instead of moving closer to the keeper. Thompho Ralidzhivha of Breakers should have equalised, but his shot was palmed away by the opponents' keeper.

The second goal of Breakers came in the 79th minute. They were awarded a free kick that was taken by Tondani Maumela. Aubrey Hamisi found the net after a rebound.

Players and official royal council members, including Chief Mbulaheni Ramabulana, celebrate their promotion to the Safa Vhembe competition.
