Time running out to enter Limpopo LAN champs

Serious computer gaming enthusiasts should note that entries for the Limpopo Provincial LAN Championships close on 22 October at 20:00. The championships take place on 28 and 29 October at HTS Tom Naudé in Polokwane. This tournament will also serve as a qualifier for the Mind Sport SA (MSSA)’s national team trials to be held in 2018.

This is an ideal opportunity for local e-sport enthusiasts to earn their provincial colours and move on to national championships. All players who win all their matches in a provincial tournament will earn provincial colours. Players who score within the top 50% during a specific period at a provincial championship and then also score within the top 50% at a national championship in the same period, will earn provincial colours.

On Saturday (28th) the competitors will be able to compete in six categories of games. These will be Starcraft II, PES (Pro Evolution Soccer), Battlefield I, Hearthstone, Ultimate Street Fighter V and Counter Strike Go.

On Sunday (29th), the action on the monitors continues and participants will compete in DotA 2, League of Legends (LoL), FIFA ’17, Mortal Kombat X and VainGlory.

The matches start at 09:00, with the prize-giving ceremonies taking place at 18:00. The entry fee is R60 per registered player. Players must also bring along their own computers and have all the necessary updates done prior to arriving.
