Crucial match for Black Leopards

If there was ever a time when Black Leopards desperately needed the maximum points in a league match, that time is tomorrow. Lidoda Duvha will host Mthatha Bucks in their NFD League match at the Thohoyandou Stadium tomorrow afternoon.

The Thohoyandou outfit must win the match at all cost, for two reasons. Winning the match will not only bring the team back into the league title race, but they will also move out of the relegation zone.

Black Leopards are currently in the fourth-last position on the log with 10 points from 10 matches. Should they donate the full points to Mthatha Bucks tomorrow and Super Eagles and Richards Bay FC win their matches, Lidoda Duvha will drop to the second last position on the log.

It remains to be seen whether the Leopards’ new coach, Mr Ivan Jacky Minaert, will find a winning combination in his debut match on the team’s technical bench. Minaert’s appointment as the team’s head coach came into effect last Wednesday.

The Leopards’ strikers, Mwape Musonda, Thembisani Nevhulamba and Ivan Mahangwahaya, are sharpened to kill while the midfielders, Meshack Maphangule and Eden Nene, are expected to make things happen in the middle of the park.

Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila (TTM) will meet Mbombela United at the Kanyamazane Stadium in Nelspruit. The log leaders, Highlands Park, will travel to the Princess Magogo Stadium in Durban to honour their fixture against Uthongathi FC. Pretoria University will host Ubuntu Cape Town at the Absa Tuks Stadium in Pretoria.

Royal Eagles will play against Real Kings at the Harry Gwala Stadium in Pietermaritzburg, while Richards Bay FC will host Witbank Spurs at the Umhlatuze Sports Complex in Richards Bay. Stellenbosch FC will entertain Jomo Cosmos at the Athlone Stadium in Cape Town. Super Eagles and Cape Town All Stars will meet at the Goble Park Stadium in Bethlehem.
