Full points for Young Santos

 

Mukula Young Santos came back from a 0-1 deficit to beat Matangari High Aims 3-2 in their MMK Administrators Soccer League match at the Mukula grounds on Sunday.

High Aims took the game to the home side from the first whistle. It took them only 14 minutes to open their account. They were awarded a free kick in the 25-meter area. Mishumo Ngwana beat the keeper with a half volley from the free kick.

High Aims continued to knock on the opposition’s door, but they could not find their way through the defence of Santos. Young Santos found the equalizer nine minutes into the last half. Andanani Makhadi went loose from the centre of the pitch and beat the keeper with a close-range half volley. High Aims lost cohesion in the middle of the park shortly after Santos’s equalizing goal. Santos capitalized and increased the margin in the 65th minute.

Andanani Makhadi completed his brace with a ground cutter, following a neat pass from Phathutshedzo Takalani.

High Aims found the equalizer moments thereafter. Thizwilondi Dau headed home after a scramble within the box. Santos reclaimed the lead through Thitevhelwi Nembilwi in the 79th minute. He scored with a header, following a free kick that was taken by Andanani Makhadi.
