United Brothers too good for Powerline

Zoutpansberg Powerlines donated the maximum points to Muraleni United Brothers when they lost 2-1 in the MMK Administrators League match at Tshiozwi on Sunday.

Both sides played attacking football in the first half, making the match entertaining to watch. Powerline had their first regret in the fifth minute. Vhuthuhawe Netshiombvani missed a golden chance when he shot wide.

United came close to scoring in the 14th minute, but Rendani “Balo” Mathavha held onto the ball for too long within Powerline’s danger area. He later lost possession. Khulani Maringa and Bongani Baloyi of United were booked for different infringements during the match.

Powerline scored their only goal in the 42nd minute. Gudani Sinthumule unleashed a powerful shot from outside the box and the ball crossed the goal line.

It was evident from the start in the second half that United were going to collect full points as the hosts were outclassed in all departments. United brought on Euclid Kobuone and Phathutshedzo Livhalani. They changed the complexion of the match by distributing telling passes to their strikers. It took United 25 minutes to equalise. Their all-rounder, Aifheli Mukwevho, was on target, following a neat pass from Khodani Machaba.

Their winning goal came in the 84th minute. Melton Nembidzane made no mistake after receiving a pre-cooked pass from Musiwalo Mahuwa.
