Stars too good for Murunwa

 

Madombidzha Western Stars beat Murunrwa TVET FC 2-0 in their MMK Administrators league match at Madombidzha on Sunday.

Murunwa was out of touch throughout the first half. They were lucky not concede goals during the first 45 minutes. Thabang Nakone of Murunwa disappointed his team and the fans when he beat all the defenders and the keeper and then shot wide in the 10thminute.

Stars started the second half at a very fast pace, giving their opponents not a moment to breathe, and their midfielders distributed telling passes to the front-runners. In the 47th minute, Prince Ndou’s shot deflected the ball into his own net.

Stars introduced Tshimangadzo Masala for Wanga Netshidzivhe, and moments later, Precious Mbedzi of Murunwa was booked for an infringement on Daniel Mukosi.

The Murunwa side came close to scoring in the 74th minute. Mulweli Thabela held onto the ball for too long within the Stars’ danger area, until he lost possession. Murunwa did not lose hope, despite trailing by one goal. They initiated promising moves from behind but could not beat the defence.

Stars midfielder-cum-striker Tshimangadzo Masala beat all the opponents from the centre of the pitch and scored his team's second goal.

Matha Ratshilaya is in possession of the ball, and Doctor Ratshibaya is on guard.
