Four points for Pull Together

Mutandani Pull Together collected four points in their two MMK Administrators League matches over the past weekend.

They played to a 1-1 draw with Duthuni Happy Boys at the Duthuni grounds on Saturday before overwhelming Tswinga Peace Makers 3-0 at the Lwamondo Baboon grounds the following day.

Although no goal was seen during the first 45 minutes, both sides managed to display entertaining football. Pull Together threatened to score in the 35th minute, when Phumudzo “Zane” Nemutandani, who scored a brace in the game, went loose from the middle of the park and unleashed aimlessly from the 25-meter area. The ball went far wide.

Pull Together effected two changes to their starting 11 four minutes into the last half. They replaced Simphiwe Maboya and Rolivhuwa Mulaudzi with Lucky Ntshidi and Lucky Madzivhandila respectively.

The replacements marked the turning point of the game as Pull Together scored their opening goal two minutes afterwards. Phumudzo “Zane” Nemutandani beat two defenders before sending the keeper the wrong way with a close-range volley.  Nemutandani completed his brace in the 68th minute, following a square pass from Lucky Madzivhandila.

Pull Together used their last substitution chance by introducing Uhone Nkhumeleni, who replaced Takalani Farisani. Nkhumeleni made his presence felt five minutes after his introduction. He blasted in a rocket, following scramble within the box. Peace Makers did not lose hope, despite trailing by three goals. Pull Together played defensive football in the last 10 minutes of the game.
