Powerline beat Arsenal

 

Zoutpansberg Powerline collected full points in their MMK Administrators league match when they beat Madombidzha Arsenal 3-1 at Tshiozwi on Saturday.

Although Vhutshilo "Muraleni" Mafunisa was warned with a card for obstruction eight minutes into the match, he did not lose his fighting spirit. He continued to be a thorn in the flesh of the defenders of Arsenal.

Powerline opened their account in the 28th minute. Takalani Sadiki gave the ball the final touch after a scramble within the box. The goal was a wake-up call for Arsenal’s midfielders. They created several dangerous moves from the middle of the park, with Powerline chasing the action. Arsenal found the equaliser in the 36th minute when Mbengeni Rambuwani beat the keeper with a volley, following a brilliant pass from Mpheni Razwimisani.

The score was 1-1 when the teams adjourned for half time.

Arsenal effected several changes to their starting lineup. They replaced Boldwin Sipheyi, Samuel Ratshikhopha and Mpheni Razwimisani with Tshepiso Manavhela, Thlonoweng Mushukwa and Talifhani Mbelengwa. Powerline responded by introducing Thendo Shivhishi, Thilivhali "Skilo" Maluma and Given Ralutanda for Takalani Sadiki, Vhuthuhawe Netshiombvani and Phathutshedzo Tshivhenga.

The introduction changed the complexion of the match as Powerline overpowered their opponents. They increased the margin in the 68th minute when Vhutshilo Mafunisa hit the back of the net.

Late in the match, Mafunisa increased the margin to 3-1 with a beautiful header from a square pass by Dominic Mafuleni.
