Black Leopards turn the tables

After months of struggling to find a winning combination, Black Leopards’ enthusiastic fans now have reason to believe that their team will take part in the promotional playoffs at the end of the season.

Leopards, who were fighting for survival at some stage, are now lying in the fourth position on the log, following their impressive results in their last six matches. Their latest result was a 2-0 victory over Mbombela United at the Thohoyandou Stadium last Saturday.

The Thohoyandou outfit have deposited 31 points into their league account so far, 13 behind the pace setters, Highlands Park. Black Leopards are four points behind the second-placed Real Kings.

Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila (TTM) dropped one step down the log, following their defeat last weekend. They lost 1-3 to Cape Town All Stars. TTM are now lying third on the log with 33 points from 21 outings. Jomo Cosmos, who were in the second spot for about three months, are now in the fifth spot. Stellenbosch FC and University of Pretoria are in the sixth and seventh position respectively.

The race for survival is among Ubuntu Cape Town, Mthatha Bucks, Royal Eagles, Richards Bay, Super Eagles and Uthongathi FC. Ubuntu are languishing at the bottom of the log with 18 points, while Mthatha Bucks are one point above them.
