The new leaders for the SAFA Vhembe Regional Association were elected during the association’s extraordinary congress held at the Munakisi Hall on Sunday.
Mr Risimati George Kubayi was unanimously re-elected the president of the association. Mr T Maphaha will hold the post of the first deputy president. The new second deputy president of the association is Mr Richard Mammbeda, while Ms Norah Mudzielwana will hold the post of the third deputy president.
Mr Eric Muneri was also re-elected the general secretary of the association. The post of the treasurer will now be held by Mr Jabulani Philbert Ndove, who replaces Mr Marcus Mukumela.
The other committee members are: Messrs Basani Macebele, MJ Vukeya, SJ Maluleke, MD Muthivhi and AE Singo.
When addressing the gathering after his election to lead the association forthe next four years, Kubayi stated that they would soon form various sub-committees. He further said that Ms Nancy Ramaru would continue to work as the league’s head of administration, while Mr Samuel Matodzi would also continue to render executive support.
He appealed to the committee members to respect the association’s relationship with the sponsors, saying so many association were running their affairs without sponsorships. “We are lucky to be associated with sponsors like MMK Administrators” he said. He further said that the Vhembe Regional Association was the biggest region in the country in terms of the affiliated members and the best when it came to financial administration.
The league’s sponsors, MMK Administrators, were represented by their brand manager, Mr Fhatuwani Magogodela. He said that his company would continue to sponsor the association. Mr Vincent Ramphago represented the provincial association at the congress.
