Ravies surrender to Juventus

In their Thulamela Local Football Association League match at the Makhuvha Stadium on Sunday, Juventus FC collected the maximum points at the expense of Ravies FC, following their narrow 1-0 victory.

As if they were going to bury Juventus alive, Ravies approached the aggressively, with their midfielders dishing out some telling passes to the strikers. Their original fighting spirit faded with time, however.

Realizing that there was nothing to fear, Juventus took the game to their opponents in the last 20 minutes of the first half. The Ravies’ keeper, Balanganani Makhitha, denied Juventus two sure goals towards the end of the first half.

Ravies used all their substitution chances in the last half. They replaced Fhumulani Munyai, Talifhani Mulwela and Ndivhuwo Nelurangani with Thonifhani Mbulaheni, David Phaswana and Gudani Manenzhe respectively. Although pressure started to mount on their defenders after the Ravies’ replacements, Juventus kept their starting line-up intact.

Their patience paid dividends later in the game. The keeper of Ravies, Balanganani Makhitha, passed the ball to an opponent to clear it from the danger area. Aluwani Mulovhedzi, the Juventus’ striker, received the pass and dished a square pass to Thinawanga Mphego, who headed home to ensure that his side deposit the maximum points into their league account.
