Stars hammer Dynamos

Sinthumule Dangerous Stars hammered Tshiozwi Dynamos 5-1 in the final of the Our Place Self Catering Accommodation Louis Trichardt Tournament at Tshiozwi on Sunday.

Stars displayed entertaining football. Dynamos were only good at the far back and their midfielders hesitated for too long and did not release the ball on time for the goal poachers.

Dynamos initiated some promising moves from the centre of the pitch but were denied several scoring opportunities by the solid defence of their opponents. Stars, however, broke the deadlock in the eighth minute. Phethani Ralubuvhi forced his way through the defence of Dynamos and scored an easy goal from close range.

Eric Sefularo was on target in the 25th minute to make the score 2-0. Although one of their key midfielders, Thabelo Netshiendeulu, was reprimanded with a card in the 34thminute, Dynamos did not lose their fighting spirit.

Stars continued to pressure their opponents by creating promising moves from the centre of the pitch. Morete Letlalo tried his luck from outside the penalty box with a volley. The Dynamos keeper, Vhuthu Netshiomvani could only watch the ball hit the net to bring the half-time score to 3-0.

Dynamos missed two clear chances in the last stanza. Mashudu Nengovhela shot wide from close range after receiving a neat pass from Zuma Rasiluma in the 74th minute. As if that was not enough to stir up the fans, Dynamos’ striker, Alugumi Mamugudubi caused another upset three minutes later. He released aimlessly from outside the box.

Phethani Ralubuvhi completed his brace and finished off a rebound after Tebogo Sethabane tried his luck from outside the box to score the fourth goal. Dynamos reduced the margin when Zane Mulaudzi scored the only goal of his team.

The last goal of the match was scored by Tebogo Sethabane late in the match.
