TTM to face Maccabi FC

With only four matches remaining before the end of the season NFD season, the struggle for promotion and to escape relegation will continue this weekend.

After collecting maximum points at the expense of Ubuntu Cape Town, whom they beat 1-3 at the Thohoyandou Stadium last Saturday, Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila (TTM) have another tricky hurdle ahead of them.

They will undertake a journey to Johannesburg where they will rub shoulders with Maccabi FC at the Dobsonville Stadium on Sunday. The match is equally important to both TTM and Maccabi FC.

While Maccabi will be fighting it to move out of the relegation zone, TTM must collect the maximum points to remain in the race for the promotional playoffs.

TTM are currently in the fifth spot on the log with 41 points. Maccabi are in the 12th spot on the log with 29 points. A win against TTM will be enough to guarantee Maccabi’s future as an affiliate of the NFD next season.

The combination of TTM’s strikers, Phumelele Bhengu, Edward Maqele and Wonderboy Makhubo, is expected to keep the Maccabi defence running for cover throughout the game, while Lebohang Mabotja, Tshepo Makgoga and Patrick Meso will be there to ensure that their danger area is always clean.

The other NFD fixtures are: Ajax Cape Town vs Cape Umoya United, TS Galaxy vs Royal Eagles,  Real Kings vs Jomo Cosmos, Witbank Spurs vs Mbombela United, Stellenbosch FC vs Uthongathi FC and TS Sporting vs the University of Pretoria.
