Rangers and Santos in Benjies clash

 

The quarterfinal matches for the Benjie’s KO Competition will be played at the Khubvi Benjie’s grounds tomorrow.

The competition was officially launched two weeks ago. The last-16 matches were played at the same venue over the past weekend.

Tomorrow’s programme will commence with a match between Tshidimbini Brave Lions and Makhuvha Up the Ants at 09:00. Brave Lions beat Mianzwi Green Hornet 1-0 in their last-16 match to secure a place in the quarterfinal stage, while Up the Ants’ way to the quarterfinal went via Guyuni Hot Spurs, whom they beat 2-0.

Tshilapfene Arsenal will meet Mutuwa Brazilians at 11:00, followed by the match between Vhutalu Mountain Rangers and Mulodi Santos. The day’s programme will be wrapped up by the match between Zwaloni United and Tshatshingo Potholes.

According to the competition director, Mr Nndavheleseni “Coolman” Makhado, the toss for the semi-final matches will be conducted at the grounds shortly after the last quarterfinal match tomorrow.

The semi-final and final matches will be played at the same venue on Sunday.

Makhado revealed that the champions of the competition will take home R6 000 and floating trophy and the runners-up will become R3 000 richer. The losing teams in the semi-final stage will each receive R2 000. The losing teams in the quarter-finals will each receive R300. The prize-giving ceremony will take place at the grounds shortly after the final on Sunday afternoon.
