Black Leopards relocate to the Malamulele Stadium

Following the club’s agreement with the Collins Chabane Local Municipality to utilise the Malamulele Stadium as the team’s home ground, Black Leopards finally relocated to the Malamulele Stadium on Monday.

According to the communications manager for the club, Mr Divhambele Mbalavhali, the team started with their normal training sessions at their new home ground this week. Mr Mbalavhali said that all the players had reported for training on Monday as expected. He further stated that the relocation for the team would boost the players’ morale.

Black Leopards had played all their first-round home matches at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane. Mbalavhali said that playing at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium was as good as playing away from home.

Asked about the team’s poor running in their first-round league matches, Mbalavhali was quick to mention that everyone in the club was concerned about the team’s current position on the log standings. The Thohoyandou side are perched in the second-last position on the log standings with 14 points, one above Jomo Cosmos.

Mbalavhali assured the team’s supporters that things would soon change for the better in the Leopards’ camp. He added that the team’s head coach, Mr Joel Masutha, was hard at work and no need existed for anyone to press the panic button now. He reminded the people of the fact that the team was still going to play 13 league matches before the end of the season.

“Anything is still possible,” he said. Black Leopards will commence the new year with an away fixture against University of Pretoria FC at the Absa Tuks Stadium in Pretoria on Sunday, 20 February. The other Vhembe-based side, Venda Football Academy (VFA), had resumed their training sessions last Friday. Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila’s players are expected to report to the team’s training camp next Monday, 17 January.
