Sixteen teams to compete in DRC Mukondeni tournament

 

The Mukondeni Grounds are expected to be packed to capacity from Women's Day (9th) to the 11th of August when 16 teams will participate in the DRC Mukondeni Soccer Tournament.

The sponsor, Attorney Dakalo Ramuthaga, said that Vhembe was a region rich in talent and “we have over the years seen some talented South African soccer players being unearthed from this area.” He stated that he was committed to promoting local football development and praised the organisers of the tournament for their love of community development.

The 16 teams that will participate in the event are Teams Five FC, Tshikumbu FC, Muwaweni Lucky Stars, Eagles United Stars, Masakona Real Citizen, Tenda IP FC, Hlanganani FC, Tshivhuyuni Green Rovers, Mukondeni Shooting Stars, Mashamba Soccer Academy, Master KG, Vhembe Cora Academy, Amavarara FC, Mpheni Diamond Stars, Madombidzha Try again and Mukondeni Young Chiefs.

The first prize in the challenge is R20,000, a floating trophy, gold medals, and a new soccer kit. The second prize is R10,000, silver medals, and a new soccer kit, while the third prize is R3,500. The team that finishes in fourth place will receive R2,000. There will also be awards for individual achievers.
