Col Rakhadani receives top award

Col Rudzani Rakhadani, the head of visible policing (Vispol) in the SAPS Vhembe District, was honoured by Provincial Police Commissioner Lt-Gen Thembi Hadebe for being a go-getter, initiator of projects, and coming up with different techniques in fighting crime. This was during the Vhembe District Crime Combating Forum session that was held at Tshipise Forever Resort on Monday, 11 December.

Hadebe was flanked by deputy provincial commissioners and provincial heads, with the district commissioner of Vhembe, Maj-Gen Eddie van Der Walt, members from the district office, and 22 station commanders in attendance.

The main objective of the session was to assess and monitor the performance of police stations in all areas of crime, including the daily functions they perform.

Rakhadani was the only police official from the Vhembe District to receive a trophy and certificate in recognition of her hard work, loyalty, and effort within the organisation. “I am very happy to see that the work I have been doing here is being recognised. I’m a born go-getter and initiator of things that will help the communities and fight crime. We have to stand up and work hard as the men and women in blue to fight crime in our communities,” she said.

In 2022, Rakhadani initiated the Mr and Ms SAPS Vhembe beauty pageant, which aims to build the confidence of the region’s police members. She said she was proud to see that the contest was going from strength to strength and other districts around Limpopo were also following suit.
