Madridtas and Vondwe XI Bullets in Tshifudi derby

Teams affiliated with the Limpopo Stream of the ABC Motsepe League are gearing up for tough matches this weekend. Three matches will be played on Friday afternoon, with the remaining fixtures scheduled for Saturday afternoon.

The match not to be missed will be the Tshifudi derby between Madridtas FC and Vondwe XI Bullets at Tshifudi Stadium on Saturday. Bullets must win the match to keep their title hopes alive. They are currently lying in third position in the log standings with 19 points, seven behind the pacesetters, Mpheni Defenders. Bullets did not benefit from their home-ground advantage when they played to a 1-1 draw with Mpheni Defenders at the same venue last Saturday.

Should they fail to beat Bullets on Saturday, Madridtas are likely to drop deep into the relegation quagmire. They are currently lying in the third-last position on the log with 12 points. Madridtas are tied on 12 points with United Artists.

Munaca FC will enjoy the home-ground advantage when they host Emmanuel FC at Makhado Show Grounds. The spirits are high in Emmanuel’s camp after they crushed Musina United 2-0 at Giyani Stadium last Friday. Munaca’s performance is inconsistent, despite their bolstering the team’s technical staff by roping in former Baroka FC head coach Mr Sello Chokoe two weeks ago. Munaca had played to a 2-2 draw with Maruleng Celtic at Drakensberg Stadium outside Phalaborwa last Saturday.

Mpheni Defenders will entertain Musina United at the Mpheni Grounds. Giyani Happy Boys will host United Artists at Xikukwani Stadium outside Giyani. The other fixtures are Maruleng Celtic vs Winners Park, Mighty FC vs City Motors, Ditlou FC vs Nkowankowa Continentals, Tzaneen United vs Eleven Fast Tigers, The Dolphins FC vs Sun Rise FC, and Mokopane PJ Stars vs Tubatse United.
