At least 16 teams will participate in the annual Sinthumule Kutama Easter Challenge, which takes place over the Easter weekend.

In a draw that took place at Premjee & Son Cash and Carry on 17 March, it was announced that the games will be played on 30 and 31 March, and 1 April.

All Sinthumule village teams will play at Magau village on Good Friday (30 March) at the Magau United Grounds. The matches are as follows: Gogobole vs Madabani (09:00); Tshiozwi vs Masakona (11:00); Tshikota vs Maila (13:00) and Magau vs Ravele (15:00).

The Kutama villages play at Manavhela village's Black Aces soccer fields on Good Friday, and the fixtures are as follows: Midoroni vs Makhitha (09:00); Muraleni vs Maebani (11:00); Tshikwarani vs Madodonga (13:00) and Manavhela vs Zamenkomste (15:00).

All winning teams will move on to the next round of matches, which are scheduled to take place at the Vhuilafuri Stadium on Saturday. The semifinal and the final matches are to be played on Sunday at Vhulaifuri Stadium.

"The champions of the Sinthumule Kutama Easter Challenge 2018 will go home with a R10 000 cash prize, new soccer kit, a floating trophy, 30 gold medals and sponsor hampers," said the general secretary of Mamu Community Development, Mr Jafter Mamugudubi.

The Jerry Sikhosana Goal Post, which comes with a cash prize, will be contested by all 14 village teams that do not proceed to the finals.

The U/17 and U/19 teams from different villages will play in a curtain raiser for the final match on Sunday. The former Orlando Pirates legends, Jerry "Legs of Thunder" Skhosana and Tonic Chabalala, and Kaizer Chiefs' MultiChoice Diski coach Arthur "10111" Zwane will coach the U/17 and U/19 players while scouting for talent at the same time.

At least two netball teams will vie for the champion's prize – they are Magau netball and Madombidzha netball.

Khakhathi and Friends will entertain the guests. Thovhele Vho-Rudzani Sinthumule will attend the matches. Children's entertainment and a playground will be available, which include jumping castles.
