20-year-old jailed for 15 years

A 20 year-old-man was sentenced to 15 years’ imprisonment after being convicted of armed robbery in the Makhado (Louis Trichardt) regional court this week.

A 20 year-old-man was sentenced to 15 years’ imprisonment after being convicted of armed robbery in the Makhado (Louis Trichardt) regional court this week.

Rifilwe Nicolas Mahloma was charged with armed robbery, after he stole two cellphones on Saturday, June 11, of last year. He was arrested nine days after the robbery and the cellphones were recovered.

Mahloma appeared in the regional court on Tuesday, September 5, and after being convicted, received the minimum sentence for armed robbery of 15 years imprisonment. He was also declared unfit to possess a firearm, in accordance with the fire-arm act.
