Rospa United, who were trailing 1-2 at one stage, beat Magezi FC 3-2 at the University of Venda Stadium on Saturday.
Rospa threatened to score in the ninth minute, but Collins Mandlalati shot wide from close range after a beautiful pass from his captain, Mashudu "Tlolo" Mashapha. The visitors from Polokwane were the first to find the net.
In the 26th minute, Mpho Morakalala, unleashed a volley from the left corner. Tthe keeper of United, Tembe Maweni, watched helplessly as the ball hit the back of the net.
Rospa United did not lose their original fighting spirit, despite conceding an early goal. They continued to play like a united team, initiating promising moves from behind. They found the equaliser in the 37th minute. Marks Munyai forced his way through the defence and blasted in a rocket from inside the penalty box to bring the half-time score to 1-1.
Magezi were the first effect change to their starting line-up. They replaced Ezra Mahwai with Edwin Molapo early in the second half. They again took the lead in the 58th minute. They were awarded a penalty after Johannes Manamela was brought down within the box. Mpho Morakalala made no mistake.
Collins Mandalati dribbled past three defenders in a row beating the keeper to make it 2-2 in the 74th minute. The home side found the winner in the 84th minute. Their captain, Mashudu Mashapha, beat the keeper with a ground cutter.
