A highly entertaining and action-packed "Western" movie, with its setting in Limpopo, has just been released. The comedy takes a poke at the typical Hollywood Western by setting it against a rural background with local intrigues.

The film is the brain child of local movie maker and director Musiiwa Makumbi. He combined with his friends and colleagues from Vleifontein, Munzhedzi, Maila and Makwarela to produce yet another local "blockbuster".

Movie lovers may be forgiven if they have not heard about Makumbi and the MSW Group or the release of their two previous comedy films, entitled Vhatukanani and Jack the Kidnapper. They would not, however, be forgiven for not going all out and checking the two titles mentioned here, because the movies are worth watching.

The MSW Group's latest hard-hitting comedy-cum-love-story is entitled Western Style. "Western Style is our first action comedy to be shot in Limpopo and it is based on the cowboy and cowgirl lifestyles," said director Musiiwa Makumbi.

"It stars a man known as Billion – a role played by the talented Martin Musetha – who leaves his village to live in the western countries. After some years, he comes back to take his baby mama back from Mr T. But Mr T, played by Thapelo Tshisikhawe, wants to hear nothing of it."

Central to the plot of the movie is the character Merriam, who is the "baby mama" in question. Her role is played by Valentine Hlungwani. She is the juicy bone of contention that has Mr T and Billion whipping out firearms to shoot each other, so that the last man standing can claim the cowgirl (Merriam) as his wife.

The cast includes Sindiswa Mavhunga and Omphulusa Makhuba, who all display a variety of action-filled traits in the movie.

"This movie is packed with laughter, which will thrill viewers," Makumbi said.
