Tshimangadzo Phusie Manavhela, who is best known by her stage name, Phusie Da Tall, released her latest single, Mphe Maanda, in May. The title track has since become a fan favourite and is being played in many local clubs and taverns. The album also features Abigail De Vocalist.
The 38-year-old Deep House singer from Lukau Tshishivhe in Tshilamba village started singing in 2020 and has since released 12 singles. She has also featured in at least 10 other artists' songs.
"I was inspired by my mother. She used to sing for us at home, and at church her voice inspired me to start a singing career. Three years ago, I approached local DJ, DJ Givergivero, and asked for a chance to sing with him. He gave me a beat and I started working on it, and he was very impressed with my vocals. That's when we released my first single, titled Mufunwa. My latest song, Mphe Maanda, was produced by Big Ropza and Troy Dipa and released on my birthday," she said.
Besides being an up-and-coming musician, Phusie is also a hairdresser and makeup artist, and studies fashion design part-time at the Vhembe TVET College. "I want to open an art school and it will be free of charge to the less privileged. It will focus on any type of art, from drama and poetry, to modelling, etcetera. There are many talented kids out there, but they are failing to showcase their talent because there is no one to equip them with knowledge or to inspire them," she said.
Regarding her music, she said she would be releasing more music before the end of the year. "I am working on many more projects, so people can expect something big from Phusie Da Tall in due course."
Her music is available in all digital music stores and some on her YouTube channel, Venda Entertainment Group and Pushie Da Tall. Follow her on Facebook (Pushie Da Tall), Instagram (Pushie Da Tall), Twitter (@PushieDaTall), TikTok (Pushie Da Tall), or WhatsApp or call her on 079 424 2865.
