It was one of the hottest weekends in the Vhembe District — both in temperature and entertainment. Prominent figures in the local music scene moved throughout the region, lighting up stages and energising crowds at various venues.

The main highlight was Makhadzi's Road to One Woman Show, held at Makonde Stadium. The event drew a large crowd and featured a stage set-up that met audience expectations.

However, the night took a dramatic turn when Makhadzi interrupted her performance and instructed her band to leave the stage. She accused them of sabotage and opted to continue using a CD. While some attendees found the move disruptive, others supported her decision, saying it was necessary to protect the integrity of the performance and maintain professional standards.

Gusba Banana delivered one of the night's standout performances, backed by a live band. His set showcased artistic growth and introduced a refreshing flair that set him apart from other acts.

Further controversy unfolded at Highway Roadhouse, where well-known artist Shebeshxt was attacked while performing. The artist responded immediately, confronting the alleged attackers during his set. The incident drew mixed reactions from the crowd.

Elsewhere, King Monada performed at Nyuwa's Pub, delivering a dynamic and well-received performance that added to the weekend's excitement.

The Easter weekend served as a powerful reminder of the vibrancy of Vhembe's arts and music scene. The momentum continues to build, with audiences showing strong support for local talent.
